Event Information


A celebration of the fermentation process bringing together science, education and the best of regional produce for a one-day festival. Immerse yourself in this unique event set against the charming backdrop of historic Rylstone and Kandos in regional New South Wales.

Fermenta is proudly presented by Mid-Western Regional Council, together with Cementa and Mudgee Region Tourism.


Your instructor Christine Corner from Crave Natural is an experienced local Kombucha Brewer, who has been making this delicious health elixir for over 10 years, selling to many retail outlets in the region. Christine has also enjoyed teaching hundreds of people how to make kombucha at home.

KOMBUCHA DEMONSTRATION (45mins) hosted by Crave Natural

9.30am - 10.15am 

What to Expect: 

  • The whole kombucha brewing process will be demonstrated by Christine
  • Learn how to flavour your own kombucha with tea blends or using a second fermentation to infuse your kombucha with fruit and herbs
  • Tastings of artisan kombucha
  • Get to hold of a giant scoby 

KOMBUCHA BREWING WORKSHOP (1.5hr) hosted by Crave Natural

11.00am - 12.30pm 

What to Expect: 

  • Get hands on experience with the whole kombucha brewing process
  • Learn how to flavour your own kombucha with tea blends or using a second fermentation to infuse your kombucha with fruit and herbs
  • Tastings of artisan kombucha
  • Take home your very own living kombucha scoby and a bottle of ready to drink Kombucha that you have flavoured in class
  • Notes included covering the history, health benefits and the fermenting processes 


Please arrive 10 minutes before starting time so that we can greet and start classes straight away. There is a lot to learn.

There is ample street parking near the meeting point, 78 Fleming St, Kandos NSW 2848.

Clothing – please wear comfortable clothes and enclosed shoes. Clothing should allow the sleeves to be rolled up and allow for movement.

  • Unless required to by law NO REFUND OR EXCHANGE will be given except for in the unlikely circumstances of cancellation of the event by the organiser. Refund liability is limited to the total amount of the Ticket purchase (including any fees or charges). The seller is not liable for expenses incurred as a result of the cancellation. 
  • Mid-Western Regional Council reserves the right to alter or cancel, without prior notice, any of the arrangements relating directly or indirectly to an event, for any circumstances beyond the Mid-Western Regional Council’s reasonable control. This includes the cancellation of an event itself. Mid-Western Regional Council’s maximum liability is limited to a full refund of the ticket price. Mid-Western Regional Council accepts no additional liability for travel, accommodation or any other additional costs incurred.
