Event Information

Rockpool's Group Executive Chef, Corey Costelloe, joins Borrodell for 2022's Black Tie and Gumboot Truffle Hunt and Dinner!

That's right, truffle lovers, on Saturday the 25th of June, our famous truffle hunt is back. Dress up in your most Oscars-worth dress or tuxedo, add some flashy rhinestones to your gumboots (but remember your coat too!) and join us on the grounds of Borrodell as we search with our truffle master for the coveted Black Perigord truffles.

After the hunt, we'll retire to our private underground cellar for a warming house-cider. Using the fresh truffles our resident chef together with Corey - Neil Perry's right-hand man for over 10 years - will be creating your six-course indulgent degustation truffle feast. This is one of the region's most iconic events - listed by media personality, Lyndey Milan OAM, as one of her top three Australia-wide food destinations. Borrodell has the oldest truffle oak trees on mainland Australia and – as with all quality produce – freshness is key to unlocking all the nuances of a truffle’s flavour profile.

Every year at the Black Tie and Gumboot Truffle Hunt and Dinner Borrodell hosts a charity auction. This year we are proudly supporting the Starlight Children's Foundation. Guests can bid on artworks as well as the prized truffles found during the hunt. While all guests are encouraged to dress like they’re attending a grand gala dinner, we also have a prize for the best glammed-up gumboot. So get out the hot glue and paste those feathers and diamontes to your favourite pair of Wellies.

For those that love some fun, great wine (all wines are supplied by Borrodell of course!), and a luxe meal of fresh farm truffles prepared by one of the best chefs in the country, book your tickets today.

Ticket includes:

  • Hour-long truffle hunting with truffle dogs under the oldest truffle trees on the mainland
  • Learn how truffles grow, and how dogs find them
  • Six-course degustation Truffle dinner by Corey Costelloe
  • Matched estate-grown wines
  • Live music entertainment
  • Complimentary bus service to and from venue
  • Discounted accommodation at select providers in town*
  • The time of your life!
