    At Ganguddy (also known as Dunns Swamp) Southern Cross Kayaking provide guests with a unique insight into the stunning World Heritage listed Wollemi landscape. Eco-friendly kayak tours are operated from September to April. During the NSW school holidays in this period, we operate 7 days a week.

    In addition to Kayak and Stand Up Paddle Board Hire (from $30 per hour) at Ganguddy, we operate a variety of wonderful, informative, and very memorable kayak tours, taking in all that the culturally significant Ganguddy has to offer.

    All itineraries are guided and tailored to suit even the most novice paddlers and your experienced guides, John and Cindy provide quality equipment, training and advice, whilst sharing their passion for kayaking, Ganguddy and all of their other tour destinations.

    Good Morning Ganguddy Tour

    All of our Ganguddy guided kayak tours combine beauty, history, and fascinating insight into the stunning and unique World Heritage listed Wollemi landscape.

    Our Good Morning Ganguddy Tour will take you to the Kandos weir (dam wall) via sandstone gorge country that is topped by remarkable, vast, and unique rock formations.

    Experience the serenity of a morning paddle and witness the local wildlife and waterway come to life for the day ahead.

    • Age Suitability - 12 years +
    • Duration - 2 - 2.5 hours, depending on group size
    • Distance - 5 kms
    • Cost - $85 per person
    • Time: Good Morning Ganguddy Tours depart at 9:00am daily during the season

    Friday on my Mind - Ganguddy Tour

    Features:

    A beautiful 2 hours on the water, ending before sunset, so as to give you time to get back to your campsite and get the fire going, pop back to your local accommodation or still have plenty of time to head out for a delicious dinner at a fabulous local eatery.

    Seasonal Tours Times: 4:00pm – 6:00pm during daylight saving (Oct – April)

    3:00pm to 5:00pm non daylight saving (September & late April)

    Enjoy a leisurely, picturesque paddle to the quieter and less explored upstream section of Ganguddy's Cudgegong River, delving into still, reed lined tributaries, where native birds nest and chatter and mountains and afternoon light reflect on the tranquil water.

    The Friday on my Mind Tour allows you to truly immerse yourself in the beautiful surrounds, as you float, reflect and witness firsthand the end of the day gloaming and quietening at Ganguddy. 

    To add to this perfect start to your weekend break or escape, we’ll also enjoy a glass of local sparkling! Elderflower Mist Sparkling is a delicious bubbly, produced by Shireen and Darren at nearby Widden Brook Farm on Nullo Mountain.  Naturally fermented and low in alcohol, everyone can enjoy a glass, even the drivers.

    Wirimbili Cultural Experience & Southern Cross Kayaking

    Sunset Paddle & Walk at Ganguddy

    Immerse yourself in the culture, history, and ancient country of the Dabee people of the Wiradjuri nation, on our Ganguddy Sunset Paddle & Walk.

    Awe inspiring scenery will greet you at every turn as you paddle the pristine waters, and trace the ancient course of the river, seeing and learning about the towering and amazing pagoda rock formations which come to life in the afternoon light.

    Learn about the food sources the river provides, the Aboriginal history of the area, and further understand how we can all care for our rivers.

    You’ll alight from your kayaks downstream at the historical Kandos Weir, where your Wirimbili guide will oversee further exploration of the stunning land that straddles the river, allowing you to absorb the view of the Cudgegong River and Ganguddy from above.

    Your guide will identify some of the abundant native flora and fauna, explaining its significance and traditional use in medicine and bush tucker, whilst you also gain further knowledge about culture and caring for country. A tasty treat will be provided at the end of your tour, featuring native ingredients and a take home recipe.

    This beautiful and immersive tour involves paddling, and walking over some uneven ground and a moderate level of fitness is required.

    Ganguddy Full Moon Tour

    A wonderfully unique kayaking experience, 2 hours in duration.

    The numbers for this special encounter are limited for safety and increased immersion and serenity.

    Perfect for visitors camping onsite at Ganguddy, our Full Moon Tour allows you to experience the stillness and wonder of paddling the enchanted waters of Ganguddy by moonlight. See the landscape take on a new presence and witness the night wildlife come to life as we glide across the moonlit water.  With many Rakali sightings and the possibility of spying local Platypus too, this magical tour can deliver on all levels.

    Your qualified tour guides Cindy and John are experienced nighttime kayakers, and they will provide all safety equipment, briefings, and special night kayaking equipment to guarantee your safety and comfort.

    Seasonal Tours Dates & Times: Dates - Tour departs at sunset, meaning departure and return times vary. Please check tour end times and consider the travel distance and nighttime driving required to your accommodation if staying elsewhere.

    • Age Suitability - 12 years+ accompanied by an adult.
    • Duration - 2 hours
    • Distance - 5 kms
    • Cost - $100 per person
    • Minimum 4 pax and maximum 10 pax are required for this tour

    Ticket numbers are limited to a maximum of 10 pax and a minimum of 4 guests are required for the tour to proceed.  You will be contacted up to 5 days before the tour should the minimum number not be achieved to discuss options for another date, voucher, or refund.
