Information is stored securely in Council’s records and enterprise management systems and accessible only to authorised Council Officials unless required to be released to other parties in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act, 1993 or other relevant legislation.
Consent to photograph/record persons and consent to use image/recording
By booking tickets for this event via this platform Forbes Shire Council gains permission from individuals to use their image/audio for the purpose of Council related projects, promotion and/or publicity. Before you agree to have any photograph/recording taken of you, or including you, for Forbes Shire Council, there are some important things you need to know.
What's Council’s Policy regarding the taking and use of photographs/recording?
Forbes Shire Council aims to comply with industry practice in the taking of and use of photographic images/audio recordings of persons for the purpose of Council related projects, promotions and/or publicity.
The taking of and use of photographic images of persons for this purpose will be done in accordance with the principles of Privacy and informed consent of the subject unless the photographic image is deemed to be so general in scope that individuals cannot be identified e.g crowd scenes.
Council will not include details or full names of any child or adult in an image on our website, imprinted publications without good reason and unless appropriate.
Council will only use images of children who are suitably dressed to reduce the risk of such images being used inappropriately.
What will happen to my photograph once it is taken?
Forbes Shire Council will store your photograph in a digital form with other information and images relating to this project. The Consent Form that you sign/signed will be placed in a file by the responsible Council staff managing the project.
Who can use my photograph?
Once stored in the Council records, your photograph/recording may be used by Forbes Shire Council for the express purpose as stipulated on the Consent Form OR general promotional purposed as stipulated on the Consent Form. Your photograph cannot be shared with any person, organisation or company outside of Forbes Shire Council without your express permission.
Where will my photograph be used?
Your photo/recording will be used by Forbes Shire Council for the express purpose as stipulated on the Consent Form OR general promotional purposes as stipulated on the Consent Form. If consent has been given for the use of your photo/recording for general purposes, some of the typical places you might see your photo (both printed and electronic format) include:
In the ‘Community Newsletter’;
In a range of printed publications such as Council strategy documents, annual reports, brochures promoting Council services; or
On the Forbes Shire Council website, Facebook page or digital monitors at Customer Service Counters etc.
What if I don’t want my photograph to be used somewhere?
Please email community@forbes.nsw.gov.au with your booking number to advise us you do not wish your photo to be used.
