Southern Cross Kayaking & Wirimbili Cultural Experience present:

Sunset Paddle & Walk Tour on Wiradjuri Country at Ganguddy-Dunns Swamp

Immerse yourself in the culture, history, and ancient country of the Dabee people of the Wiradjuri nation, on our Ganguddy Sunset Paddle & Walk Tour.

Awe inspiring scenery will greet you at every turn as you paddle the pristine waters, and trace the ancient course of the river, seeing and learning about the towering and amazing pagoda rock formations which come to life in the afternoon light.

Learn about the food sources the river provides, the Aboriginal history of the area, and further understand how we can all care for our rivers.

You’ll alight from your kayaks downstream at the historical Kandos Weir, where your Wirimbili guide, a local Dabee custodian of the area, will oversee further exploration of the stunning land that straddles the river, allowing you to absorb the view of the Cudgegong River and Ganguddy from above.

Your guide will identify some of the abundant native flora and fauna, explaining its significance and traditional use in medicine and bush tucker, whilst you also gain further knowledge about culture and caring for country. A tasty treat will be provided at the end of your tour, featuring native ingredients and a take home recipe.
