Escape, explore and experience the magic of a kayaking tour with Southern Cross Kayaking at beautiful Ganguddy (also known as Dunns Swamp), in the spectacular Wollemi National Park, situated close to Kandos and Rylstone in the Mudgee region.
Our FRIDAY ON MY MIND guided kayak tour is a beautiful 2 hours on the water, ending before sunset, so as to give you time to get back to your campsite and get the fire going, pop back to your local accommodation or still have plenty of time to head out for a delicious dinner at a fabulous local eatery.
Feel the tension of life's hustle and bustle melt away as you enjoy a leisurely, picturesque paddle to the quieter and less explored upstream section of Ganguddy's Cudgegong River, delving into still, reed lined tributaries, where native birds nest and chatter and mountains and afternoon light reflect on the tranquil water.
The Friday on my Mind Tour allows you to truly immerse yourself in the beautiful surrounds, as you float, reflect and witness firsthand the end of the day gloaming and quietening at Ganguddy.
To add to this perfect start to your weekend break or escape, we’ll also enjoy a glass of local sparkling! Elderflower Mist Sparkling is a delicious bubbly, produced by Shireen and Darren at nearby Widden Brook Farm on Nullo Mountain. Naturally fermented and low in alcohol, everyone can enjoy a glass, even the drivers.

Seasonal Tour Times:
4:00pm – 6:00pm during daylight saving (Oct – April)
3:00pm to 5:00pm non daylight saving (September & late April)

- Pre-tour orientation, safety briefing and paddling instruction
- Safety equipment fitting
- Craft selection from our deluxe fleet; the Mission 'Contour 490' double sea kayaks.
- Breaks as needed for rest, hydration, and discussion.
- Photo opportunities, quiet observation and awe inspired appreciation.
PLEASE NOTE: We ask that you please check your travel times to Ganguddy and arrive on time. Our tour departure cannot be delayed for latecomers as a sign of respect for other paddlers.
Terms & Conditions
Changes due to weather
Like all outdoor activities our tours or equipment hire may be impacted by mother nature.
The safety and enjoyment of the group will always be the deciding factor and such decisions are at the sole discretion of Southern Cross Kayaking and its operators. Should we need to cancel pre-booked tours or equipment hire, we will try to contact you as soon as possible prior to your scheduled start time if weather conditions dictate any changes.
Rain showers on the day of the tour will not necessarily result in cancellation, in fact some of our most memorable and enjoyable paddles have been in rainy conditions. If rain is forecast, please bring a spray jacket.
Southern Cross Kayaking reserves the right to alter advertised operating hours in the event of adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.
Conditions of high wind or electrical storms may prompt cancellation or postponement of the tour.
- Southern Cross Kayaking reserves all rights to cancel or reschedule an activity in the event of adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.
- In the event that Southern Cross Kayaking must cancel an activity due to inclement weather, or for any other reason, the activity may be rescheduled or a credit voucher for the full value of the reservation will be issued with a validity date of 6 months from the cancellation date. If the activity cannot be rescheduled a full refund may be processed. (Please note that Southern Cross Kayaking are unable to refund any fees charged by third party booking agencies).
