Event Information
As the winter chill fills the air and the sniff of snow looms deep in the horizon, the Borrodell team prepares for the most decadent event of the year - the Black Tie and Gumboot Truffle Hunt and Dinner!
It’s time to dress up to the nines, go hunting for Borrodell’s Black Perigord truffles, then retire to the private underground cellar where Borrodell’s special guest chef, alongside the onsite team, create a five-course luxury degustation truffle feast. This is an iconic Orange event and is even listed by media personality, Lyndey Milan OAM, as one of her top 3 Australia-wide food destinations.
Borrodell has the oldest truffle oak trees on mainland Australia and – as with all quality produce – freshness is key to unlocking all the nuances of a truffle’s flavour profile. Guests are guided through the 30 year old truffle trees to search for truffles with the truffle dogs, then retire to the warmth of the candle-lit wine cellar, complete with a glorious fireplace, for a dinner prepared by some of the finest chefs in the country.
Every year, the Black Tie and Gumboot Truffle Hunt and Dinner hosts a charity auction, with esteemed art works, gourmet packages and freshly harvested black truffles up for grabs, with proceeds going to the charity of the chef's choice.
Guests travel from near and far to be a part of this spectacular and memorable evening. This is a winter wonderland treat where you are expected to not only glam-up but rug up! So, dust off the ball gowns, spruce up the top hats, add some sparkle to the gumboots. Guests are not only encouraged to dress like they’re attending the Oscars – but there are also prizes for the best gumboot! So get out the hot glue and paste those diamontes to your favourite pair to be in the running for a prize!

Terms & Conditions
Cancellations
Please note that we have a strict cancellation and refund policy that will be applied. Cancellations less than fifteen (15) days prior to the event won't receive a refund. Credit will be given for any future Borrodell events in lieu of a refund.
Refunds
Where notice is given between 1 month and fifteen (15) days before the event, a 50% refund may be given.
Where notice is given more than 1 month to the commencement of the event, a full refund shall be given.
If, for any reason, Borrodell cancels the event, you will be given a full refund.
Force majeure
In the event of circumstances beyond Borrodell's control, ie, Covid 19, acts of nature, within 24 hours of the event that prevents the event going ahead, or prevents the guest from attending, there will be no refunds. Instead guests may use the ticket to attend the event the following year, or transfer their ticket to another guest.
Seating Arrangements
Guests will be allocated seating according to the number in their booking. Guests must provide the Borrodell event coordinator with the contact details of every member in their party, to ensure that communication between Borrodell and all guests is open and transparent.
Alcohol, Dietary Requirements, Allergies
Ticket price includes an alcoholic beverage upon arrival followed by two (2) standard glasses of wine per course. White and red wines will be carefully matched with each course. For any reason a guest cannot consume these, a request must be made beforehand and an alternative substitute will be arranged. Non-alcoholic requests must also be pre-arranged. Any extra wines or beers may be purchased from the bar. Spirits will only be made available for purchase after 9.30pm. No drinks from outside the venue may be brought onto the premises.
All dietary requirements and allergies will need to be reported at least fifteen (15) days prior to the event.
Responsible Service of Alcohol
Our staff practise responsible service of alcohol, and will refuse service of alcohol if guests appear intoxicated. If guests become unruly, they will be asked to leave.
Smoking
The Truffle Ball function room at Borrodell Estate is a non-smoking venue. Smoking is only permitted outside in the designated smoking stations.
Liability
Borrodell Estate is not responsible for any personal injury occurring on or near the premises. The guests are responsible for any loss or damage to property belonging to Borrodell Estate and/or loss of personal items belonging to themselves or other guests.
