On Saturday, 5th April 2025, embark on a journey like no other as you travel in style from Sydney aboard our beautifully restored 1930s carriages, hauled by classic diesel locomotives. Along the way, enjoy the breathtaking countryside as pipers play onboard, filling the air with the unmistakable sound of Scotland.

As you glide through the picturesque landscapes of the Southern Highlands, you’ll be transported to a bygone era where train journeys were more than just travel. From the elegant comfort of our vintage carriages to the rich Scottish traditions that await you in Bundanoon, this is a day of celebration, culture, and beauty. Arrive in Bundanoon feeling relaxed and ready to enjoy the Bundanoon is Brigadoon Highland Gathering, one of Australia's most beloved and energetic Scottish festivals.

Whether you’re a rail enthusiast, a lover of history, or someone looking to experience the unique blend of Scottish and Australian cultures, the Brigadoon Express is your gateway to an extraordinary day out.

About the Bundanoon is Brigadoon Highland Gathering

Founded in 1978, the Bundanoon is Brigadoon event has grown from a small gathering of pipe bands into a world-renowned celebration of Scottish heritage. Initially created to raise funds for local charities, this festival now supports both local businesses and the community while attracting thousands of visitors each year.

The festival begins with an impressive street parade featuring 25 pipe bands, colourful floats, and clans. Following the parade, the Opening Ceremony at The Oval hosts a breathtaking massed pipes and drums display, Scottish country dancing, and Highland dancing.

Recognised internationally, Bundanoon is Brigadoon has become one of the finest Highland Gatherings in Australia, drawing visitors from all over to experience the magic of the Scottish Highlands right in the heart of New South Wales.

With the Brigadoon Express bringing you directly to the heart of the festivities, your day begins with effortless elegance.
