Step aboard the Kandos Explorer, a rare and unforgettable day journey to the historic town of Kandos, nestled at the edge of the spectacular Capertee Valley, 249km from Sydney. Powered by heritage diesel locomotives and operated by East Coast Heritage Rail, this vintage rail adventure promises to transport you to another time, where history and breathtaking landscapes combine.
Travel in beautifully restored 1930s carriages as we cross the majestic Great Dividing Range, enjoy panoramic views of the UNESCO-listed Blue Mountains, and pass through charming rural towns—each part of the journey offering a glimpse of Australia's rich rail heritage.

Terms & Conditions
When booking your ticket, you must confirm that you will withdraw yourself and your immediate contacts from the tour before the tour date if you are unwell. A full refund will be provided to any passenger who withdraws due to coronavirus precautions.
Whilst you are able to select your seat, for operational reasons we unfortunately can't guarantee whether any individual seat will be facing forward for the duration of the trip, or whether a given seat will have particular views.
We reserve the right to change seat allocations if required for operational reasons (within the same fare type), and will endeavour to contact you if these changes are significant.
For operational reasons we cannot guarantee that particular locomotives or carriages will be used on this trip, and substitutes may be required on occasion. ECHR reserves the right to make changes to motive power and consists without notice.
We welcome bookings for disabled passengers, and ask that you please contact us to discuss your needs before booking. Due to the limitations of our heritage carriages we unfortunately cannot accept bookings for some disabilities, but we will make every effort to accomodate you where we can.
ECHR reserves the right to cancel any of its services where sufficient bookings are not received to cover operating costs.
Tickets are non refundable. However a credit for a future tour may be granted at the discretion of ECHR.
