Travel back in time aboard the Southern Highlands Express, a one-day heritage rail journey from Sydney to the historic city of Goulburn. Operated by East Coast Heritage Rail, this special tour features restored 1930s carriages, vintage charm, and stunning countryside views.

Departing from Sydney Central Station, relax in vintage comfort as our heritage diesel locomotives carries you through the suburbs and into the scenic Southern Highlands. Onboard, enjoy a licensed bar, buffet service, and souvenirs, all supported by our friendly and experienced crew.

Enjoy approximately three hours at leisure in Goulburn, Australia’s first inland city, officially proclaimed in 1863. Spend your time exploring historic streets, relaxing in a local café, or visiting one or more of the city’s key attractions:

• Goulburn Model Railway Expo – Hosted at Veolia Arena, this expo features over 30 model layouts and displays by the Georges River Model Railway Club. Entry fees apply.

Vintage shuttle buses will run regularly between the station and all three attractions, making it easy to explore at your own pace.

Please arrive at your departure station at least 20 minutes early. The train cannot wait for late passengers due to scheduling constraints on shared rail lines.
