About this workshop
When thinking about grief, we don’t always associate it with climate change. Yet, we are aware of many losses and changes that we are experiencing – from change in weather patterns leading to increasing disasters from floods, fires and droughts to a loss of a sense of safety, security and hope for our future. We are also experiencing a growing loss of species that are crucial to maintaining a healthy eco system that works for the good of all of us. In the light of these many losses, grief is often present, even if it remains unarticulated and unrecognised.
This workshop is for counsellors, social workers, teachers and those who are working with people who are experiencing the impacts of climate change. The focus of the workshop will be to reflect on current literature and research highlighting the impacts of climate change; assist in helping to understand how we might work to support the grief being experienced by ourselves and those around us; recognise the function of grief and how it can support the ways in which we might be struggling to live and respond in the face of climate change.
This seminar is presented live and ONLINE via zoom.
