General Terms and Conditions
Attendance at movie screenings and other events conducted by the Friends of the Liberty Theatre & Cultural Centre Inc (FOTLCC) are subject to the following terms and conditions.
You must have a ticket
Unless otherwise specified, you must have a valid ticket to attend a movie screening or other event conducted by the FOTLCC.
How to purchase tickets
You can purchase tickets on the FOTLCC website at https://www.libertytheatre.com.au/ or at the theatre prior to a screening.
The FOTLCC cannot guarantee that tickets for a screening will be available at the theatre and recommends that tickets be purchased on the FOTLCC website.
Times and session details
Times and session details in relation to tickets purchased through FOTLCC website are subject to change without notice.
Payment methods
The FOTLCC accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, G Pay and Apple Pay.
The FOTLCC also accepts cash for ticket sales at the theatre.
Booking and other fees
Tickets purchased on the FOTLCC website may be subject to a booking fee, credit card fee or other fees. The FOTLCC reserves the right to alter any and all fees from time to time and without notice.
Allocated seating
Allocated seating is not available unless stated otherwise – seats for all sessions are on a first come basis. The FOTLCC recommends arriving early for sessions.
Assisting those with accessibility needs
A person with mobility or other accessibility needs should contact the FOLTCC prior to the screening so that arrangements can be made for the safe entry and exit of the theatre and the reservation of seats or an area for wheelchairs.
Classification
You acknowledge the FOTLCC’s right to enforce movie classification requirements set by the Australian Classification Board and you must not purchase tickets to a movie that you (and any persons on whose behalf you purchase tickets) are not legally entitled to see. For instance, if you are under 15 years of age you cannot purchase and use tickets for a movie classified MA15+.
Children below the age of 18 will not be allowed entry to (R) rated movies, and children below the age of 15 will not be allowed entry to (MA15+) rated movies.
Concessions
Where you purchase concession tickets online, suitable identification must be provided when you attend the theatre.
Order Confirmation
If you do not receive a confirmation number or email after submitting payment information, or if you experience an error message or service interruption after submitting payment information, it is your responsibility to confirm the booking by contacting the FOTLCC.
Ticket collection
Your booking confirmation (ticket) will be sent via an email to the email address that you entered on the booking confirmation page. This confirmation needs to be printed or readily displayed on your smart phone or tablet and shown when entering the theatre.
Refunds and Exchanges
Tickets purchased on the FOTLCC website are sold for a specific session only and cannot be exchanged or transferred.
If you have purchased a ticket, you may request a refund up to 1 day before the screening or if there are special circumstances as to why you require a refund.
The FOTLCC reserves the right to refund tickets on site at their discretion.
Cancelled or Postponed Events
Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by FOTLCC. Should this occur, FOTLCC will attempt to contact you and either refund the cost of the ticket or issue a new ticket for another screening.
No food, drink or recording devices in the theatre auditorium
You must not bring food or drink into the auditorium. The FOTLCC screenings are run by volunteers who do not have the time or capacity to clean up rubbish or spills.
You must not use mobile phones, cameras, or other audio and video devices to record movies or people inside the auditorium. If you record all or part of a movie may be prosecuted under Australian copyright law and fines of up to $60,000 may apply.
Refusal of admission
The FOTLCC may refuse entry to a screening or event or have you removed from the theatre on valid grounds, including if:
- you fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions;
- the FOTLCC has not received payment for your ticket, or you are unable to produce a ticket;
- you are intoxicated or you behave in a threatening, disruptive or offensive manner;
- you interfere unreasonably with another visitor’s enjoyment of the screening or event or the theatre;
- you interfere unreasonably with FOTLCC volunteers carrying out their functions or fail to follow the reasonable directions of FOTLCC volunteers; or
- as specified elsewhere in these Terms and Conditions.
The FOTLCC may need to refuse admission for safety or security reasons, in which case, and provided that you have in no way contributed to the circumstances of the refusal, the FOTLCC will refund your ticket if it was purchased in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
Unless otherwise specified, the FOTLCC does not provide supervision of children. All children requiring supervision must be accompanied by a supervising adult at all times and may be refused admission or attendance if not accompanied by a supervising adult.
Latecomers may be admitted to a screening or event during a suitable break, which could be the first interval, if an interval is scheduled. In some cases, latecomers may not be admitted at all.
Without limiting our rights in this section, the FOTLCC reserve the right to move an audience member to an alternative seat where the FOTLCC believes they are causing disruption to artists, performers or other audience members or are interfering unreasonably with others’ enjoyment.
Modification of terms
FOTLCC reserves the right to change these terms and conditions or modify the website from time to time. The user shall be responsible for regularly reviewing these terms and conditions.
Ticket purchase and billing information
When purchasing tickets through the FOTLCC website you must provide personal details, including credit card billing information. Your credit card details are used for real-time billing of ticket purchases and are not retained on our server.
Electronic email addresses
The FOTLCC will record your email address if you transmit it to the FOTLCC electronically. Your email address will only be used for the purpose for which you provide it and will not be added to a mailing list unless you request that this be done. The FOTLCC will not disclose your email address without your consent.
Personal information collected by the FOTLCC
The FOTLCC has no need to collect personal information other than for the purpose of delivering information to its members and patrons. Records are kept in strict security, and personal information is not disclosed to any organisations or individuals.
