Highlights of the tour include the Altar, a 15m tall crystal formation, Thunder Cave, the Well and the site of a Fossil Dig conducted by Flinders University. There are 150 stairs down into the cave and then 150 on the return exit. A medium level of fitness is required for this tour.

Hard hats are required on tour, these are supplied by the caves but you are welcome to bring your own or bike helmets.

Gaden Cave - 1 hour duration - 12 person capacity limit per tour

Gaden Cave is a relatively small, beautiful crystal filled cave. It is approximately a 10 minute walk on the surface, passing & learning of other caves and excavation shafts along the way. Within the cave there are 120 stairs (with a handrail) to go down and back up in stages.

Gaden Cave is susceptible to changes in atmospheric conditions such as carbon dioxide which can be influenced by outside temperatures during the summer months. Cave safety checks are completed every morning prior to tours commencing. Tours may be suspended if the cave does not pass the safety check, any guests booked prior will be contacted ASAP.

Discovery Lab – 45 minute duration - 20 person capacity limit

Become a palaeontologist for the day. Dig through million year old sediment extracted from our Bone Cave and Phosphate Mine and see what bones, fossils and other cave treasures you can discover! Lab sessions are for children and adults. Children must be accompanied with an adult.

Discovery Lab sessions are held in a classroom within the Visitor Experience Centre. (Does not include entry into the cave) Select “with tour” if you have also booked a Gaden Cave tour or “without” if only completing a discovery lab session.
