Event Information
Stunning wetlands and waterbirds await!
Paddle in the Ramsar-listed Macquarie Marshes Nature Reserve on this guided tour. The Nature Reserve - and most of the Macquarie Marshes as a whole - are not open to the general public, so this is a unique opportunity to experience this ecologically important (and amazing) place.
Soak up the sights and sounds as you have time to slow down, watch waterbirds, and relax in beautiful wetlands.
Your tour guide Bron Powell has been leading tours in the Marshes for several years, is local to the region, has worked in river restoration, native fish recovery, and currently works as an Ecologist for NPWS - so you are in knowledgeable hands.
Please note: if you’re mainly looking to go kayaking in the Marshes, covering distance at a decent pace, this tour may not be the best fit. Our tours are about slowing down, soaking up the serenity of the Marshes, and connecting with the environment. We paddle slowly and don’t cover large distances.
Tours are conducted as a group experience, which means travelling at a pace that is comfortable for everyone, including slower or less experienced paddlers. We warmly welcome people with little or no paddling experience.
A medium level of fitness is still required for the tour though. You will also need to climb through or over some barbed-wire fences (with assistance).
Kayaks and lifejackets are provided. The kayaks are sit-in kayaks with back rests.
Solo travellers are welcome. The minimum number of guests for a tour to run is one.
We have nice small group sizes (4 people) but can take up to 6 people if you are all part of the one group/booking - please book online for 4 people to grab your spot, then contact us to book the additional 1-2 people.
People who use wheelchairs may be able to participate, depending on your circumstances and environmental conditions – please contact us to discuss.

By booking on this tour, you agree that you have the fitness required to participate, will wear a lifejacket (fully clipped up) at all times whilst paddling, and will wear shoes that will stay on in sticky mud (i.e. joggers, sandshoes or sandals, not crocs or thongs). You will be required to sign a waiver at the start of the tour.
