Make your own Christmas gifts - pottery workshop

Rest, restore and rejuvenate.

Come and enjoy a beautiful space, put your hands in clay and escape everyday life. You will learn how to make pinch pots, then build on this, to hand make your very own Christmas gifts and decorations. ONce you know how to create a pinch pot you will be guided in your choice of making windchimes, christmas bells, herb stripper / garlic grater, trinket dishes, little bowls or vases.

You will share friendship, a delicious morning tea  and be absorbed in a sensory experience.

You get to play with clay and make cherished pieces. You will decorate the surfaces of the pieces and choose from several coloured glazes. I do the rest. Every piece is individually dried, fired in the kiln, hand glazed, and fired again. Your pieces will be ready by 14th December at The Vault, Dubbo.

All materials provided. You just get to turn up and enjoy. Bring an apron.

Event for 14 years and above.

About Emma

I discovered my love for ceramics in high school, completing 3unit ceramics for my major works during the HSC. These were exhibited in Art Express and selected for an overseas exhibition. I went on to use my creativity becoming an Occupational Therapist, problem solving in the disability industry and teaching adults how to provide care. I became burnt out after 25 years and sought refuge in art. I dabbled in drawing, and painting however ceramics drew me back in once I could access a kiln in Dubbo.

I entered the Mini Series Art Prize with The Corner Store Gallery in 2023 and was selected as a finalist. I am a predominantly self-taught ceramicist and attend courses at National Art School Sydney to further develop my skills. People kept asking me whether I would offer opportunities for them to try out ceramics and here I am, running clay experiences and events. I sell my pieces in several shops in NSW, at Dubbo Art Fair, and through my online shop.
