Orphan Seats

Orphan Seats

The Orphan Seats setting is available for Event Seating and Event Mixed events.

When enabled, it prevents customers from leaving a single unsold seat between selected seats, an aisle, or the end of a row. This helps maximise seating capacity and reduces isolated seats that are difficult to sell.

Step 1: Access Event Management

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Navigate to "Manage Events".
  3. Select "Current Events." This will display a list of all the events you're currently managing.
  4. Find the event you want to edit. Click on the blue hyperlinked event title to access the event's settings.

Step 2: Enable Orphan Seats

  1. Ensure your event type is set to Event Seating or Event Mixed.
  2. Scroll to the "Orphan seats" section, below "Seating map".

  3. Tick "Prevent orphan seats".

  4. Select "Save".

Tips

  • Orphan Seats can only be enabled for events with a seating map.
  • Enable this setting to maximise seat utilisation and reduce isolated empty seats.
  • Disable the setting if you want customers to be able to leave single-seat gaps between bookings.
